Saltash Beavers 2017
Amanda Cook is the leader of two Beaver colonies in Saltash, Cornwall. These amazing boys beavered away throughout November and December, making Ruby Robin Christmas decorations, cards and cakes amongst many other bird items to sell to their friends and families at a Robin Fayre.
They used the activities to hone their creative skills in making and decorating things, learning about birds, finding out about charities and how fundraising works, money and how to count and give change, customer service and selling/merchandising.
The Robin Fayre, where their friends and families came to enjoy an evening and purchase the lovely goodies they had made, was organised and run by some of the older beavers who used this experience to achieve their Personal Challenge Badges!
Amanda was delighted to award the four boys their Chief Scouts Bronze Award at the end of the Fayre with their families in attendance.
Ruby and everyone at SongBird Survival send our congratulations to (from left to right) Ben Nugent (8), Ethan Mann (8), Jago Webber (8) and Matthew Harnett (7 3/4) and thank them for all their hard work and dedication to helping songbirds.
